Liverpool vs stoke city
Liverpool had a fantastic win in the champions league in midweek against Roma, they are really finding their best form at the right time of the season. If only Liverpool could have started the season like they are playing now, surely, they’ve would have at least pushed Manchester City all way for the premier league title.
Stoke on the other hand are running out of games to stay up in the premier league. Stoke City are four points adrift of Swansea city and having played a game more than Swansea, they only have this game and two more fixtures to have any chance of staying up.
It’s clearly evident stoke city will not be staying up, they’ve only taken 5 points from their last 10 games and whereas they’re relegation battlers like palace and Brighton have at least shown some steel, stoke city have been woeful.
Liverpool have the return leg of the champions league on Wednesday and with top-4 virtually secures, Klopp will surely have one on the more important tie. This game could be a chance for stoke to steal some points while Liverpool rest some players but Stoke city have rarely shown the kind of form that would be required to get anything from Anfield.
Betting Tip: Asian corners Over 11
Burnley vs Brighton
While Burnley are having another great season in the premier league, it seems they are finally tailing off. Burnley drew to a lacklustre stoke city last week and looked quite poor themselves.Brighton also are tailing off after all but securing premier league status for next season.
This game a feel of a pre-season friendly where neither team wants to play in it and both sets of players rather be at the beach than grafting it out in the premier league.
Both Burnley and Brighton play in a similar style and with lack of drive and motive for sets of players this might end up a bore draw.
Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score-NO
Crystal Palace vs Leicester City
Only a few weeks ago Palace were struggling to escape the relegation zone, thanks to a decent couple of win and draws they are all but mathematically safe.
Leicester have been mid-table all season and the last few weeks they’ve been playing very much like a midtable side earing mostly draws and the odd win here and there. Truth be told, like most of the teams in the premier league, Leicester’s season was over long ago. They were never going to push for a European spot, neither were they ever in danger of relegation.
So, how will this game pan out? Well, I’m not brave enough to call a winner here, but I’m certain it won’t be goal-fest.
Betting Tip: Total Match Goals UNDER 2.5
Huddersfield vs Everton
If any team is going to get dragged back into the relegation zone, I feel it could be Huddersfield. In fact, I don’t know how they’re not in there now. Apart from a few outstanding displays early in the season, Huddersfield have been atrocious but somehow other teams have managed to be even worse.
Everton are another team who haven’t had much to play for in months. Their fans are clearly unhappy with the brand of football being played at the club and new big money signings have made a negligible impact. A Big overhaul will clearly be needed next season.
Everton beat Newcastle in midweek, in what was a dull affair. Newcastle were resolute but offered little in way of offensive play, Everton got a lucky winner which they never looked like scoring. I’m afraid this game too might more of the same.
Betting Tip: Asian Corners Over 10
Newcastle United vs West Brom
In the last two weeks, West Brom have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford and they sent in-form Liverpool away last week with just a solitary point. Where on has this drive and desire been all season. They earned more points in the last three games than they have done in the whole of 2018. West Brom deserve to go down and if I was a fan I’d be even more crossed with the team for only performing when it’s clearly too late.
Apart from the big boys and Burnley, Newcastle United have been my team of the year. They always give 100%, they’re hard to beat. They may not be pretty to watch but working on a shoe-string budget Rafa Benitez has done wonders for Newcastle.
Newcastle are very strong at home, they give nothing away easy and while West Brom turned up for the big televised games in the last couple off weeks I’m quite sure they’ll be back to their useless self now the limelight is off them.
Betting Tip: Newcastle to Win
Southampton vs Bournemouth
With only four games to go until the end of the premier league season, Southampton are four points off 17th place Swansea. The last time Southampton won a game in the Premier League was back in mid-February and just about everyone thought Southampton would have too much about to stay in the relegation zone.
Fast forward a couple months, and this fixture is do-or-die for Southampton, if they fail to win here it could spell curtains on their Premier League status.
Bournemouth on the other hand have been safe for some time and have played like a team who’ve been safe for the last few weeks.
If Southampton are going to mount any kind of pressure on the 17th place it must be this game, they haven’t won in months but often desperation can bring out the best in some teams.
Betting Tip: Southampton to Win
Swansea vs Chelsea
Swansea need a win to fight off any pressure that may and surely will come from the teams below as we head into the final furlong of the long Premier League season. Unfortunately, they face a resurgent Chelsea side who keen to finish the season off on a high.
Chelsea made it into the FA Cup final last week brushing aside a dismal Southampton side, they also looked good in the league of late, maybe it has something to do with their players trying to get back in form for the fast-approaching World Cup Finals in Russia, just being a cynic here.
Swansea have a decent record at home in the last couple of months taking all three points from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Burnley.
While Swansea may just settle for a point here, that might just be their downfall. Swansea have played well when they’ve played to win, trying to manage a game against a team the calibre of Chelsea could prove to be a huge mistake.
Betting Tip: Asian Corners Over 9.5
West Ham vs Manchester City
The Premier League Champions have broken many records this year and they have their eye set on one more, the highest Premier League points tally and surpassing 100 points for the season.
West Ham on the other hand will just be glad to be playing football in the Premier League next season such was their predicament just a few weeks ago.
Manchester City Brushed aside Swansea in an exhibition manner last week winning 5-0, West Ham will surely just settle for a respectable loss.
City look like they’re in the mood to create and break records and West Ham are no way near good enough to stop them.
Betting Tip: First Half Goals Over 1.5
Manchester United vs Arsenal
While in recent season this fixture has been what it used to be, Wenger’s imminent departure from arsenal gives this classic fixture a totally new dimension.
For years Manchester United vs Arsenal were the games of the season, sometimes League titles were decided just on this fixture. In the last few years with the emergence of Manchester City and Chelsea, Arsenal/United have taken the backstage to more prominent teams.
For fans who have grown up during the Premier League era, this game will be a reflective one to the times of great rivalry between these great clubs and particularly between Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson and latterly Jose Mourinho.
On the pitch, there’s little to for but pride. Both teams are involved in Cup competitions which have taken their focus. While Wenger might opt for a weakened team to rest his players for the big game against Atletico, Mourinho I’m sure won’t be able to resist the temptation to get one over the man he once called “a specialist in failure”.
Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score
Tottenham Vs Watford
This was supposed to be the season when Tottenham finally won something or at least challenged for the title. While have played great football at times, in truth they have been disappointing. Knocked out of the Champions’ League when they looked certain to go through and last week, losing to Manchester United in the Cup semi-finals.
Watford haven’t won a game since they beat bottom-of-the-table West Brom back in early March. Since Watford have looked safe from relegation, they have eased off the gas, in fact they’ve looked like they’re completely out of gas.
Spurs should make easy work of Watford, they can secure third place and with it automatic Champions League place. Not having their summer holidays cut in already a short holiday should be enough motivation for Spurs to deal with Watford with ease.
Betting Tip: Tottenham to win HT/FT
