All the weekends Premier League fixtures previews and betting tips.
In the early kick-off relegation battlers, Southampton take on a Chelsea side who are in equally bad form at the moment.
Southampton desperately need points and last weeks battling but ultimately losing performance would at least have given them the confidence that they can at least put up a spirited fight against big teams, something that’s been woefully lacking in Southampton’s’ season.
Chelsea are a club in a total mess right now. There are public disputes between the board and the manager and the form on the pitch is that much better. And with little hope of Champion’s league football next season, it seems most players have given up already.
Southampton might just smell a whiff of blood in this fixture and get at least a point. And while Chelsea are the odds-on favourite and can call on big-name players, their away form of late has been horrendous and it’s hard to make an argument for them to get anything but a point.
Betting Tip: Southampton Double Chance
7th placed Burnley take on 8th place Leicester City in this ultimate battle for the “mid-table mediocrity”. Burnley are having another great season having long secured their primary objective of staying in the Premier League and have cemented the 7th place.
Burnley are also in great recent form taking 13 points from a possible 15 and while both teams have little to play for, both Burnley and Leicester will want their season to peter-out towards the end.
Games between these two clubs in recent seasons have produced little in way of excitement. Both teams being very evenly matched and playing a similar style of football, this may well be another stalemate.
Betting Tip: Asian Total Corners Over 11
Both Palace and Brighton drew last week after the lead and while the point pretty much secured Brighton’s Premier League status the last gasp equaliser against palace was a bitter pill to swallow for them after playing so well and it leaves them in a dangerous relegation fight.
Despite not earning many points, Palace have been in good form of late playing against most of the big teams. their fixtures from here on in look favourable if they can keep the level of performance and are sure to get more points than have got from recent matches.
Brighton will look to sure up a good first season by securing their Premier League status, a win the will do it. Though a point wouldn’t be the worst result.
Palace are approaching desperation stages with only a few games to go, and they might just throw all-in here to get all three points and move up the league.
Betting Tip: Crystal Palace To Win
Watford are lucky they have already secured their Premier League status, on their current they’d have no chance of escaping a relegation fight.
Huddersfield on the hand are in and amongst the pack trying to escape the relegation dogfight. Huddersfield desperately need a win and with Watford seemly already in summer holiday mode, they might just have the best chance they’re going to get in the remaining matches.
Betting Tip: Huddersfield To Win
Swansea are another team in the relegation dogfight, while Everton have little to play for in the remainder of the season. Swansea looked dead and buried in the first half of the season only to escape the bottom of the premier league.
With Everton already looking forward to building for next season, this fixture might prove to be a great opportunity for Swansea to grab all three points and go some way to securing their future in the Premier League.
Both Swansea and Everton play nice tidy football, but both teams have struggled for goals. While this might not be a goal fest, a single goal could win it for either side.
Betting Tip: Total Match Goals UNDER 2.5
Liverpool have beaten runaway league leader Manchester City home and away in midweek to secure passage to the semi-finals of the Champions League. With a top-4 spot already all but secured, Liverpool are likely to concentrate on the Champions’ league from here on in.
Bournemouth too have secured the club’s season’s objective of staying in the Premier League. While Liverpool’s main focus may be on the coming games in the champion’s league, they’ll still want to continue the good form they’ve been in and carry it into the Champion’s league semi-finals.
Bournemouth, however, will be happy to get anything from this fixture, and with Liverpool looking ahead and in a celebratory mood, Bournemouth might just turn up and gatecrash the party.
Betting Tip: Asian Total Corners Over 10.5
City have had a terrible couple of weeks, beaten by Liverpool home and away in the Champions’ league and beaten by Man Utd last week after taking a 2-0 lead. Still, Man city have had a wonderful season, but somehow it now feels like they’ve failed somehow, strange thing to say about a team who have played some of the best football ever played in English football.
City take on Tottenham in this oddly arranged late evening fixture, presumably the TV companies are expecting a Man City win and thus the crowing of the premier league title. Like United last week, Tottenham would love to spoil City’s party and send them back up north empty-handed again.
Spurs are a side in great form and are more than capable of tuning over City. And with midweek’s disastrous game still at the back of the mind, Spurs might just pounce on City to rub salt into their wounds.
Betting Tip: Total Match Goals Over 3.5
No matter how you look at it Newcastle have had a great season having secured premier league status last week against Leicester. Arsenal on the have no chance of getting Champion’s League football next season unless they win the Europa Cup in which some formidable still remain.
Newcastle, however, have always fared poorly against Arsenal and having fought all season with a limited quality squad, it’s easy to see that they might not put much effort in as they might have in the game had they still been in relegation threat.
Arsenal are doing what they always do well, they are playing good football when the pressure is off. This game is no different, Newcastle are not going to keep the level of effort and fight as they have done in recent games.
Betting Tip: Arsenal To Win
If the Premier League had been a Boxing match, the referee would have already stopped the fight West Brom, they have been woeful. While mathematically they can still get out of the relegation zone, West Brom are already practically a Championship side.
Manchester are on a hot streak of form of late, and having defeated their local rivals Manchester City last week to deny them the crowing, United will be in a great mood to finish off the season in style.
West Brom probably shouldn’t even bother to turn to this game, they have practically no chance of getting anything here. The result will depend on how much United want to put on a show for their fans.
Betting Tip: Man Utd To Win HT/FT
After last weeks defeat to spurs, Stoke manager Paul Lambert said his team will need at least 3 more wins to have a chance of survival. West Ham on the hand could seal Premier League status with just one more win. Either way both teams need wins, and for Stoke who have played a game more need them wins sooner rather than later.
Stoke have only taken a single point in their last five games and only scored 2 goals, that is relegation form. West Ham, on the other hand, have fared a little better taking 4 points just in their last two games.
If results go against them this weekend, Stoke could be all but doomed already. They have to find some form and fast, While West Ham would probably settle for a point edging them closer to safety.
Betting Tip: Asian Corners Over 10
